The COVID pandemic meant that the club was suspended between the end of March and the end of June 2020 (although we kept in touch with people).  The staff prepared and delivered meals on wheels from June 2020 until trainees returned in September.  The older guests kept in touch with each other via a weekly conference phone call and quizzes and finally in July 2021 the older guests were able to return to the club at Etloe with the new facilitator, Caroline.  (Not everyone could make it at first).

What?
The ALFA Training Lunch Club trains and helps up to 4 adults with learning difficulties or other disabilities to plan, prepare and serve meals to people who find it difficult to cook for themselves or would like company at lunch time. This is an all day activity for the people with disabilities, who shop for the ingredients, prepare the lunch (3 courses), serve the guests, clear up afterwards and then plan the meal for the next week.  This activity is accredited as a Day Service by Bristol City Council, and has a 5 star food hygiene rating.
Lunch club guests need to book their place - please see further details.
